Land of the Dead Giants by Greg Guirard: This is a story set in the swamps and bayou area of Louisiana, about a young boy and his relationship with the ancient cypress swamp. It is filled with detail of the land and history, as well as the unique culture of this rich ethnic heritage. It is printed both in English and cajun French in the same volume. Wonderful for family or classroom reading. Guirard is a spellbinding storyteller, as well as a renown photographer and chronicler of bayou ecological history.
